Ski Resort Maps App - our #1
If you are looking for ski holiday resort guide then look no further. This app is your digital guide; also useful if you're partial to getting lost. It features 22 great ski resorts throughout Europe and America. Using your GPS position it quickly identifies bars, hotels, ski lifts etc for the holiday resort you are staying in. You can also map your position when you set off for the day, maintaining a trail of where you went and what you did. The resorts which are currently featureds within the app are as follows:

This is a tremendous little app that uses augmented realism which offers a compass, GPS, zoom range and two-axis inclinometer. It works by overlaying things like position, bearing and altitude in real-time using the iPhone camera. It is useful for most trips away but would also effective for hiking, boating, winter sports and frequent travel. It was also the number 1 selling app in the navigation category of iTunes around September 2010.
REALSKI - our #3
Another augmented reality trail map app. Created for the iPhone 4 or 3GS it uses the compass and camera features to overlay ski runs and key points of interest for popular mountain resorts in America. There are 80 extra maps available to download for a small fee. To use the app you just point your phone at a visual area like you are taking a picture and watch the screen as it displays chairlift names, ski runs and resort facilities on your display.
